Oh well, I would guess that something at MyR or Chorus isn't as configured as they say it is.
I also guess you've tried turning the ONT off and on (if that's recommended ?)

Google shows a lot with these issue various reasons with isp, mac, wait awhile looks like no one has really nailed it. One says update firmware on router, sometimes a good idea anyway.

So the level 2 support came back and suggested I try the router settings again *facepalm*
Anyone have idea's on these errors?
On router set up page: "your isp's dhcp does not function properly"
Laptop direct into ont lan1: "Unidentifed network - no internet"
Troubleshooting connection on laptop: "Ethernet does not have a valid IP configuration".
Google this stuff there's plenty of threads about it, most of which are unintelligible to me. They mostly seem to involve Merlin and bridge mode and some say use aggressive dhcp and some say don't use aggressive dhcp etc etc.
You haven't got another router you could try ?

WAN interface has a DHCP client. I think you are way off track as LAN side DHCP sever has nothing to do with this problem.

Pretty sure I do or have tried that, does the router need to reboot after every "apply" or when it reboots itself on apply is fine, since ive noticed it doesn't always reboot on every apply.
I wonder if I have a leg to stand on if I want to change ISP but they say the service is there....
Don't really know about rebooting, sorry. Usually on the rare occasions I change something it has some kind of percentage count while it applies a change. Not sure if thats the same as a full reboot though.
No idea about changing isp. Not sure if you have 7 days to change your mind or something. OTOH it might well be a router problem of some kind.
Those ONT thing have 4 ports I think, have you tried all of them, just in case.

T'other halves number one criticism of me is my regular use of the phrase 'I dunno'. Am afraid that looks like that's going to be my answer here as well.
Would it be worth picking up one of those cheap Trade Me HG-659s as an alternative, they seem to hover around $30 and checking out
or
