Does anyone else find it a bit scary that an ISP can push out their own firmware onto this modem, even if it isn't their equipment?

 

At first sight that would seem like a huge security risk.

 

What's the mechanism for this? TR-069?

But they did need the account number, modem serial no. and MAC addr so I personally wouldn't worry.
