1TB is nothing these days. Can do that in a day quite happily.

That's the problem then, not Orcon. What router(s) have you tried?

So that is your issue then. And you confirmed you've tried multiple routers and multiple cables? If so, what are the model numbers of the routers you have tried, are you sure these all have gigabit WAN ports? Also are you sure the cables you're using have all the pairs connected? There are some trash cables out there with only two pairs connected. 

Maybe have a physical look at port 1 on the ONT and make sure there is no debris in there, and no pins are bent or anything like that.

The routers I have used are Orcons Netcomm NF4v, Ubiquiti Edgerouter X and Mikrotik Hex S which can all take gig. I havent checked the ONT port so will do when possible and surely 4 cables arent shot, most of them were from Orcon when they supplied a replacement modem. 

That would seem to be either a damaged Ethernet port on the ONT or an internal fault with the ONT then. 

Also do double check the cables have all their pairs connected. 

Edit - does your ONT look like this one? And you have no LAN light at all?

@Linux correct me if I am wrong but I believe 1Gb requires auto negotiation to work.

@wratterus My ONT is similar but white and no lan light.

I originally had a white ONT with UFF but when my ISP upgraded the line to gbit it got swapped out for a black one.

if your only getting 90mbit or so, check the cable between the router and the ONT.

I had a cat5e cable only connecting at 100Mbit the other day, then changed it and got a gig.... 

The only other reason is the profile. But that will be at the ISP's end. 

Have you confirmed these 3 cables you have tried weren't all duds?

eg, the cheap ones that had two pairs instead of 4? or a simple CAT5 cable that can't do gbit?

the alternative is you have possibly damaged the physical port in the ONT and thus the pins aren't contacting well enough to establish gbit.

All cables being used are Cat5e. I tried another cable last night and still no go. I also looked at the ONT port and couldn't see any damage but in saying that it's incredibly awkward to get to.
