Blizzard's routing changes were 3 weeks ago...

Meanwhile 2degrees routing changes in the last 24 or so hours...

+ 111.69.185.0/24 Announced
+ 111.69.252.0/24 Announced
+ 111.69.253.0/24 Announced

Are these their CGNAT ranges? Are those affected on these ranges... google "what's my IP".

Routing for those prefixes look different from here... certainly not as diverse through the looking glass of Australian providers.

@NickMack I find pings to statler are fine (111.69.56.57). Pings to 111.69.56.5 is not fine, 250 ms.

@Linux Yes, 103.4.114.233 is a Blizzard gaming server but I am also having latency issues in CS GO and a variety of other services in Aus, including AWS.

If I check my latency to similar services in US West (Blizz/AWS) I am getting expected latency of 160-190ms which is less than connecting to the same services in Sydney.

I am in the CGNAT ranges btw, I seem to have flicked over to it in the past couple of days. I've logged a separate ticket with 2 Degrees support asking to be put back in the previous dynamic Public IP setup because it has broken other things for me.

However, I don't really get how CGNAT could be the issue here since you would expect these services to have similar setups in Sydney or US West and if the other party is causing added latency due to CGNAT you would expect both locations to show increased latency and that is not the case.

That's my result, similarly to you I get normal ping to US west and abnormal ping to Sydney.

The added latency for Australian services is due to 2degrees only picking up traffic for the IP ranges I listed above via their internet exchange in the US.

Usually there would be a path from Sydney directly to Auckland (e.g. via Vocus which is the 111.69.56.5/4) but now it is going via the network on the US west coast.

I'm assuming that will get resolved though right?

I'm also experiencing high latency to the Australian gateway for Path of Exile since yesterday morning until around 9pm, and the issue has now resurfaced today. I am with 2degrees and using a ethernet connection. It has made the game nearly unplayable.

The MTR looks like this for me:

as23655.sydney.megaport.com - 0 | 305 | 305 | 53 | 54 | 96 | 54 |

as36351.sydney.megaport.com - 0 | 305 | 305 | 199 | 201 | 236 | 200 |

Hi All,

I have the team looking into this, I'll report back when I know more and share.

I've moved my connection from CGNAT to static IP.

Initially it broke my internet 🤣 I had no IPv4, only IPv6 worked. Was interesting to see which sites continued working.

Called support and got given a new static v4 address. This resolved the latency issue for me immediately.

I know customers that have had static IP added for free after CG NAT was implemented

Isn't it ironic giving out static IP's for free with going to CGNAT?

It's still less active v4 addresses for them... No harm really..
