No real speed issues here, seeing about 3Mbit down from LA. That's not full connection speed but not too bad.

Hads, where are you based? Because Wellington isn't looking so hot at the moment....

Cheers,
Mark

I'm based in Timaru. I have noticed a few fluctuations but nothing too serious.

Looking good Fred! I've done some number crunching and am feeling a bit happier now. The average from my old ISP was a bit lower than I thought. If I excluded data from earlier in the week when things were really bad Snap actually gives a slightly better average!

Say what sort of modem are you using, I'm thinking about upgrading my old Xtra DL502T to see if that will speed things up....

Cheers,
Mark

I'm using a Dynalink RTA 1320, came with Orcon, it does the job... I'm fairly sure that it is not a bottle neck but would be nice to pull memory usage stats out of it.

BOO. I'm working from home today and... am now figuring out that using google docs was a poor decision.
I might call customer services again for some friendly customer service. Poor front line staff, their ears must be bleeding by now. Hmm time to escalte.. think there is a ceo@snap.net.nz emial address? or vp@.. i'll try spamming those addreses with a link back to here ;)

It is becoming pretty obvious to me that we have been limited to a max of 1Mbit on a FS/128k plan.  Was getting 4.5 right up until Monday - since then, haven't been able to go over 1 Mbit

That's looking good Fred, wish I could get close to that. But I'm constrained by the line not Snap, maybe sometime in the next decade when cabinetisation finally rolls into our neighbourhood.

It seems to me that Snap have been working through some network balancing over the last few weeks, here's hoping it will settle down soon.
