Anyone else on snap able to drop some speed tests here please? Upload speeds are faster than download!

https://www.speedtest.net/result/323648098.png

Mind you I'm getting 1450kb on a torrent.. but expect that there are local NZ seeders.

I tried calling snap support, open untill 11pm but... I was number 1 in the queue for so long that my partner told me to put the phone down and give up on them.

*sigh*

Tell me this ain't so! I just signed up with Snap over the weekend after receiving assurances that international speeds at peak hours would be at least as good as my current ISP. Should I cancel or is this just one of those occasional glitches?

Well.. I just had a call from snap on an unrelated matter so I asked about int'speeds.
After that call I got an email stating I have been assigned a static ip and that could sort the problem.

I tested after I rebooted the router.. it at thata time appeared 'normal' to what orcon was giving me. But I will test again tonight during peak loads.

Got hooked up today and found the international speeds way too slow. So called up tech support and was told yes there is an issue with a bottleneck somewhere and the engineers are working on it. So hopefully we should see a fix soon. And when I asked about the static IP he said that it wouldn't help with this problem...

Ah well, I guess anyone can suffer from a technical glitch. What matters now is how well they deal with their customers and how quickly they can resolve it. Actually I'm feeling fairly comfortable with the dialog I've had with them to date.

Cheers,
Mark

The support has been good although a phone was left ringing and ringing when I tried to get tech support on the phone late one night. That wasn't much fun for me at all. But every other time I've gotten through without waiting in a queue and the people seem somewhat clued in.
There has been a few billing questions as well... billed for this month, fine, and the next. So.. that's normal but it was stated on the bill as 'balance carried over' or something like that. I was a little confused by that. And.. I have not seen the phone line cost on the bill so I asked about that but was then called by tech support asking if my phone line was working (??) Billing had passed created a tech call or.. forwarded my email to tech support saying my phone line was not working rather than it was a phone line cost not on the bill they sent.  To be fair the phone line wasn't working the first 1.5 days so maybe they thought that problem had come back.
Phew... glad its not something complicated being handled else it might all go up in smoke.

International downloads are not looking too bad tonight so far. Not quite up to par with my old ISP but usable...

OUch, now that is just not good. Have you spoken to tech support?

I'm getting readings from 800 to 2400kbps at the moment, there's somthing really strange going on. Here's the latest, Wellington northern suburbs, line attenuation at 44 so not particularly close to the exchange.

With my previous ISP I was getting around 2800-3300 at this time

I'm also in welli. Try a speed test to christchurch.. it would be faster than to welli as it seems to be routed through chch!
