Yeah, however they are providing these routers with plans that can achieve a gigabit throughput.

I know I get around 700/400 on my wifi on a good day or 400/200 most other days

if you have a good AP you should get 2-3 devices doing 3-400mbps simultaneously

but don't ever expect to get gig over a basic home wifi router

Sounds about right. I guess the plans it would work well on are the 100/20

Curious of the performance on the 950/450 as the original google wifi would not perform on a gigabit connection.

They must have done significant upgrades on this version

They must have done significant upgrades on this version

I am hoping to get my hands on an Aruba AP-515 802.11ax AP this will be the true test of 1GIG data rate over wifi

I got a 900 Mbps connection and my phone was showing 650 Mbps. My laptop was showing 800 Mbps.

Reality is that both the Fritzbox 7590 and the Google Nest will perform similarly. The Frtizbox has a built-in VPN, parental controls have more features (basically on FritzBox you can set time range a device can be connected to the network plus a daily time usage while the Google Nest only has a time range). FritzBox 7590 has support for DoT (DNS over TLS). Both support mesh network. Google Nest mesh devices also work as smart speakers.

It might come down to which one looks better - in that sense the Google Nest is a much better-looking device.

It’s refreshing there is another ISP supplied device that performs as intended, whereas some of the “gaming routers” with AX and a big price tag only give sub par performance.

Are you with Orcon with this device? I am assuming it plugs directly into the ONT and supports VLAN tagging?

This is a great router, just purchased on for a really good deal. Did you manage to get IPv6 working? I am on voyager with PPPoE so I assume the settings would be similar to 2degrees
