Oops! Sorry. Yep that's a shocking result here too: https://www.speedtest.net/result/c/a6261b6d-6c07-4641-b87f-5e029daaa69a

Everywhere else seems fine.

@Eitsop No it isn’t. The Speedtest just shows the problem especially when you compare it to any other test. There are real problems here I’ve been chasing for a corporate Spark customer for quite a while now.

One of the more major problems is packet loss when it is really busy but without diving into further detail it is knocking out a service for thousands of customers of this corporate. That’s just a single example…

No help to anyone else having issues here but FYI, I ended up giving up on this being resolved any time soon. As I had the luxury of controlling both connection accounts I had the Spark one moved to 2 Degrees.

Hi All

The cause has been identified, it was due to some changes between Spark and Vocus that have impacted our traffic and we are just awaiting these being fixed up. Thanks for flagging the issue to us.

Just wanted to confirm - things have been much smoother for me. My access to work for most of today has been rock solid and can confirm I have not seen the network issue crop up.

Thanks very much @pwner for raising this and working with Vocus to get it sorted. It is a shame it had to come from 2degrees when Vocus was also impacted. Clearly a problem record needs to be raised around monitoring ;)

Damn it... @pwner looks like we're back:

Seeing packet drops to Spark once again (not fun while I am trying to do a production change!).

With lockdown, Network change freezes and people working from home, I'm not really surprised at the return.

Seen quite a few providers snap into needing to make adjustments, particularly around the streaming periods. The delta is upon us :/

Hi All

we have been working to increase the capacity on these links and we believe we are in a more stable state now.

The root cause for this has been a sudden uplift in traffic over this path (pre-lockdown) due to Lumen (CDN provider) deploying a node with Spark, who as many of you will know don't peer via the IXs so traffic from this has to flow over our domestic transit links. With lockdown obviously traffic has gone even higher making the issue worse :(

We had no heads up on this deployment and until that point had tonnes of headroom. It is amazing how a CDN can eat that up :)
