Build your own DNS server (linux of your choice) and forward relevant to DNS4ME.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

I use special DNS only on certain devices.

You shouldn't need to specify the 2d DNS details, just remove what you had before and select the option for your router to get the DNS details automatically.

Also second the suggestion to get the 2degrees router... If you're currently using a Netcomm I agree you're better off retiring it.

I use DNS4ME and find it quite slow for normal use, I opted to have a rule on my router to proxy DNS to specific devices (Roku, HTPC etc) and send that to DNS4ME and then use normal DNS servers for everything else, works much better.

I went ahead and configured the Apple TVs to use DNS4ME directly, and left the router with the 2D DNS addresses. Seems to be working okay.

I do wish I had taken the 2D router. But the Orcon-supplied router has worked flawlessly for me, so I figured it was worth holding on to, and even agreed to pay the $100 to keep it. I realise now that it was probably a dumb move, but it's too late. At least everything is now humming along.

Out of curiosity, what router does 2D supply these days? Back when I was with Snap, they supplied a FritzBox.
