irpegg: Went out at 645 here

I can’t believe that they shut their phones down during an outage with no network status or update. You call through(after several attempts of caller busy) to an IVR that said ‘We are dealing with high number of calls and will be closing the queue try again later’ At least mention the outage in the IVR. Whoever is leading customer experience in that place needs to go holy shit.

I’m always surprised at businesses who see a massive spike in inbound calls, yet take 45 mins to update a network status message.

I imagine the majority of callers thought it was only affecting them. I tried to call, but wouldn’t have bothered if the network status message reflected the actual status.

Some businesses don’t help themselves.

Edit: A third friend down, also in Auckland. All three who are down are on CGNAT.

That's a good point.

Who here in this thread actually has a static IP and has service?

Still working here in Auckland. Another friend nearby is still up. Two other friends in Auckland are down. All UFB lines.
Edit: A third friend down, also in Auckland. All three who are down are on CGNAT.

I can see all cgnat nodes - https://smokeping.thenet.gen.nz/smokeping/smokeping.cgi?target=2da10 More likely a linecard lockup (grey failure) or hardware fault.

Was it static IPs only issue then maybe?

Nope because I'm on a static IP and it was all good for me.

There are multiple BNGs (where subscribers terminate to) in Auckland, so most likely one isn't playing ball.
