Its not the standard, its the frequency.  All telcos should be reusing existing LTE or WCDMA bands. 700, 900, 1800, 2100, even 2300.  

 

Leave anything over 2300Mhz for in-building wifi.

Yes, ultimately it will use those bands, if only it weren't for those pesky phones that don't support 5G yet. LTE could also use all those bands if only it weren't for those pesky phones that don't support LTE yet.
