boosacnoodle:

Might have been an IPv6 issue. Used to have this intermittently on 2degrees.

I have a Mikrotik connected to the WAN and pretty sure I don't have IPV6 turned on on it.

Also forgot I had this check running and can see the graphs slowly creeping up before it completely died on me.

@boosacnoodle @prat33k Seriously, as somebody who uses IPv6 extensively on 2degrees I can confirm this is rock solid (also running a Mikrotik). People commonly have IPv6 issues because they don't understand it - I would recommend following through https://ipv6.he.net/certification/ and getting yourself a free (and really nice) tshirt to gain an understanding and recommend you actually use it. There is huge benefit to running IPv6 (not just for geek-cred).

In regards to outages or anything I have not noticed a single thing (Paraparaumu, 2degrees). One thing to note is from my understanding they're doing extensive work in network migrations and eventually you'll see yourself on a Vocus BNG. I am not at all sure what the progress of this is but with a Mikrotik you can see your BNG name under your PPPoE settings:

I've set up additional monitoring in order to pick up any potential blips but from my external monitoring I am seeing nothing, zilch, nada. Is your Mikrotik perhaps overheating? Any logs captured?

I already got the IPv6 certification and shirt from HE years ago. Also using IPv6 at home with zero issues today.

The issues I experienced on 2degrees tended to be around my IPv4 traffic getting borked due to some issue with static IP assignment on the 2degrees side. The impact was only IPv6 traffic would pass. Getting a new static IP generally resolved the issue but I feel bad for the poor soul who would next be assigned that IP as it would surely not be working again.
