Really you need to try with another router but this could also be a MTU issue also...

Confirm on your USG you've got MSS Clamping set to Auto. Otherwise considering everything works with me (on 2degrees also) and nobody is coming in saying "me too" to the issues you're having indicates the issue is 100% on your end somewhere.

I can't see where to set MSS Clamping...using Unifi Controller.

Later this afternoon I'll chuck in the Orbi router that they sent to me and see if issues persist.

Cheers.

Do you still have problems if you use your Skinny Smart Modem with the recommended 2degrees fibre settings?

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Hi there,

I also have this issue, including with Sensibo. We were away in Fiji for a week and found this on our return. We're not a new 2degrees broadband customer, we've been with them since February. We have an Orbi router provided by 2degrees, presumably configured to their standards. We're also having issues with streaming services (pixelation, Disney+ saying there's no Internet connection).

I have noticed that the IPv4 IP address lease is configured to five minutes, which seems excessive.

How'd you go with your Orbi router?

Fiji? Nice!

Yeah, nah.  No improvement with the Orbi router.  Ended up using up an hour 30 on hold with 2degrees.  Chap who eventually took my call got me to turn off NAT filtering or something like that.  He checked a couple of things but all were set correctly.

In the end I asked for a fixed IP address - I could also see the IP changing really frequently - no wonder the likes of Sensibo etc have trouble trying to track me down (disclaimer - I don't know how CGNAT is supposed to work).

Did you know that you can go to home.sensibo.com and log in there - then control your Sensibo IR blaster directly at the source - it helps isolate the points of failure - and showed me that even controlling my Sensibo IR blaster from the server was hit and miss - it appeared as if they couldn't communicate with the unit.

I got my IP fixed and things slowly started to improve.  Today I'm all back to normal again - and have even swapped back to the USG.  Sensibo is around a 2 second response and Home Assistant is playing nicely with Google Home.

Not saying fixing your IP solves everything - like some many seem to say - it shouldn't be necessary - but it seems to have helped me (or coincidentally something else changed/was fixed at the same time).

For the timebeing I've left my DNS settings as auto, previously I was using NextDNS which is great for blocking ads and trackers - but wasn't sure if it was contributing to the issues.

Good luck.

@BryanG you may have been onto something. This problem has been now resolved: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=81&topicid=306372&page_no=1#3105386

You could likely save a few dollars and switch back to CG-NAT now :)

I'll lock this thread. If you want to continue the discussion post in the thread linked.
