It didn't occur here either I'm with my new ISP !!! YEHAAA!   Beautiful !!  10000+kb/s USA international download speeds at peak time...no latency no packet loss...just awesome gaming again. I should have left orcon months ago...fool me ! Good luck plas with all your tickets.

P.S plas...ask Orcon why they route all their customers south of Auckland through Wellington? Crazy...I live in Hamilton. When I plan a trip to Auckland I don't drive to Wellington first????

Can't say I've had any issues with Orcon thus far. I'm getting a fairly quick speed loading web pages and general internet services , decent ping on wow and decent download speed. I get around 311-455 ms on the Muradin server and can download most stuff I need at a fairly good speed.

All my tickets ? Its the first one ive opened with orcon in the last 4 years :/

But i am interested in what ISP you went with because i would love to see fast peak international downloads again.

Overall im happy with Orcon (paying $109 for adsl2+ 100GB of data) its just peak international downloads that let them down.

I suggest Orcon North Island customers outside of Auckland do a speedtest.net and tell me where the green human figure is placed. I had been with Orcon since 2007 and the green human figure always placed me in Hamilton (where I live) when doing a speedtest. About mid last year Orcon changed something which I say "they re-routed me and possibly others". Since this time my speeds had been crap and the green human figure suddenly placed me in Wellington and recommended the Wellington Server for my national speedtests thinking this Server was the closest to my home. This would also only give me a download test..the upload test wouldn't even start.  To add fuel to my theory now I have moved to another ISP. I do a speedtest and the green human figure places me in Hamilton like it should and reccommends the Tauranga Server for national speedtests...makes sense as Tauranga is closer to Hamilton than Wellington... unless your with Orcon? So why is this? Can you also tell me why I was getting under 900kb/s on Monday Night peak time but suddenly on Tuesday Night when switched to a new ISP I'm getting 10000+ kb/s peak time. Lack of bandwidth? Poor routing? What ever the reason sadly Orcon has some problems. If you want screen shots of all I have stated I can provide them to help explain the huge difference between my old ISP (Orcon) and my new ISP. Any explaination would be appreciated...but I won't be holding my breath as I didn't get any answers when I was an Orcon customer I'd doubt very much I'll get one now I'm with the opposition.

Thats speedtest trying to determine where you are based, based on your IP address. Doesn't actually mean you are connected via Wellington. Also the Wellington speedtest server has been having issues, and the uploads just don't work.

Your connection is terminated in Auckland on the Orcon BRAS, regardless of where in NZ you are connected to the Orcon network.

Nope.

I only recently switched to that plan because it costs me less than my old plan if i went over my cap. And no i dont use p2p apps.

O.K I believe you....but tell me this.. Why did the green human figure appear in Wellington when I'm in Hamilton with Orcon as my ISP and say Wellington is my recommended Server? Yet I switch to a new ISP and the green figure puts me exactly where I should be(Hamilton) and tells  me the recommended Server is Tauranga.  Regardless... my main issue with Orcon was crap International Speeds and bad Latency while gaming... thats the reason I left. I have gone from 900kb/s to 10000+kb/s over night just by changing ISP's. What would the reason be for this? Orcon lacks International Bandwidth is my answer? It's the only factual evidence here and to think I spent months in these Forums, Logging Tickets, Phonecalls to Orcon's Helpdesk, Speedtests, Trace Routes, Ping & Packet Loss tests, Changing Modems, Pulling cables, etc etc you all know the stalling procedure til they can afford more bandwidth. Actually come to think of it...Orcon has gone down hill ever since Kordia took over ownership last year. Sorry to rave on but the months of frustration and  time wasted testing trying to eliminate potential causes of low speeds and latency really annoys me.... now knowing it had nothing to do with my end. Just Orcon Having No Bandwidth ! I certainly don't miss ADSL2 speed results like this......
