The point is there are other ISP’s where the 300/100 price is a lot cheaper then $97 or added value if $97.

That is with this years price changes announced by them.

Edit or that is $102 with router rental. Note with some have to buy it if want their one, but I prefer to buy then rent.

The 16.7% price increase on the 50/10 plan (with router rental) does seem to be a lot. Does anyone know whether 2D used the Chorus "Home Fibre Starter" product for 50/10?    (Chorus retained the price at $35-  https://sp.chorus.co.nz/inflight-projects//UFB-price-change-2023 )

Possibly a strategy to drive some customers to FWA?

I’ve actually been impressed with Voda’s HFC connection since I moved over a couple of months ago. And for $53/month (soon to be $57) for 940/100 speed - it’s really hard to complain about it. Will be interesting to see if they get much uptake in Welly/Chch with the recent price increases.

Fibre is still superior to cable. Sure, cable is cheaper - but you also have to deal with Vodafone/One support.

They may get a few customers from the price increases but I doubt it will be many; anyone who wants cable would have got it installed a long time ago, it's been around for quite a while now.

Of course fibre is far superior. But for half the price, who can really complain. Just touch wood that I don’t need to phone One.

xpd:

Or go back to 2D and say "what can you offer to keep me".... they usually come back with something.

If you count the value of my time, the waiting in frustration for hours to take to anyone...meh, its $5...
