@terrbear, I followed your lead (set MTU in ORBI to 930 bytes) and now the Disneyplus and TVNZ+ apps on the TV work. TVNZ+ is not 100% but is mostly OK.

Also, www.westpac.co.nz & bank.westpac.co.nz where the hitting the login button takes you, are now working from the laptop.

It is not a fix as AnyDesk sessions to the laptop are a bit glitchy and there are other signs. However, it does provide more information for the 2degrees engineer to work with.

For everyone else, We are not in the Whanganui area!

Can you try something? If you're on windows, run this from a command line:

ping -f -l 900 -n 4 1.1.1.1

And

ping -f -l 901 -n 4 1.1.1.1

If you're on OSX or Linux, run this:

ping -c 4 -M do -s 900 1.1.1.1

And

ping -c 4 -M do -s 901 1.1.1.1

And report back what you get?

MTU in the ORBI router is 930 bytes.

C:\Users\pgodf>ping -f -l 900 -n 4 1.1.1.1

Pinging 1.1.1.1 with 900 bytes of data:
Request timed out.

ALL ISSUES HAVE BEEN RESOLVED.

The issues @terrbear and my friend were experiencing (similar problems) since late August, were resolved by Chorus restarting upstream equipment that connected to both ONTs.

More details of the resolution are here.

@terrbear had even changed RSP's (neither were 2degrees) to try and get his connection issues resolved, without success.  He also did a lot of testing and information gathering

It was only when we hooked up here a couple of days ago and found that he and my friend lived within 1km of each other, a big finger started pointing to something local at Chorus.

Another win for Geekzone, @freitasm!

Same POLT as @DimitryD too, would be good to try that other router out and see if stuff is now loading normally. (https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=81&topicid=306886)

Hi guys, apologies for the radio silence on this and other threads - I was away.

I've read through this and the related thread by @terrbear - Nice to hear that these issues have been resolved.

Since getting my new Orbi modem from 2degrees, all previous issues with certain websites not working were resolved as I mentioned in another thread. But having read these couple of threads, I am experiencing the same issues you've mentioned now, namely: Disney Plus will not load on either of our Samsung TVs and the network dropping in and out randomly for short periods of time (2-3 mins max at a time, maybe a couple of times a day).

The mentioned workaround is unfortunately too technical for me. Can I confirm that you've settled on this being an issues from Chorus' end and can be fixed by calling them directly? What's the best way to go about this?

Note - I'm also in Tawa, Wellington!

When did you last test? The issue we had was resolved over the weekend.

rmacdee:

Orbi router keeps losing connection to internet. Have been online waiting for 2degrees for 64 minutes so far and connection has dropped out and reconnected thrice during the wait.
I'm in Whanganui is anyone else experiencing this issue?

How do I lodge a formal complaint with which authority regarding ridiculous wait times/

Yes. With 2 Orbis. Sent them both back. Staying with the

FRITZ!Box 7490

5 months of wifi disconnections and speed issues. I managed to fix wifi disconnecting every 5 mins to every 4 to 5 hours by changing channel. Thanks youtube.

Speeds with ethernet cable go from 876/497 Ultimate Unlimited plan  to  95/98
