@linux - Maybe this has something to do with the new CRM? - I was in a 2D store recently, and the CRM looked identical to the customer view we now see.
So the features under the older Siebel CRM may have been scrapped?

@Delorean I know they have moved customers off the Oracle stack but they have changed the way a really good feature worked
They have taken away the ability to Share carryover data with zero notification - Read the information on the 2degrees website about Data sharing - Nothing mentions you can only share the amount of data of your base plan - I have shared large amounts of data for years
Nothing mentioned if you change your base pay monthly plan now they will remove the numbers you are data sharing with and you can't set it up again how it was
I suppose that when they migrated customers to the new platform, this feature was altered (for the worse).
Shame, as I agree, you should be able to share your carryover and not be restricted to the monthly allocation

Has we has this fact confirmed, or is that what your investigations have revealed?
I suspect, based on this, that my son used up my wife's plan, and the 45 gb I see on her account is carry over data. Which may be inaccessible to him now.

So it would seem Pay Monthly Open Sharing has also been knobbled then?

I'm able to select Open Sharing in the app (am on a Pay Monthly plan).
"Share all your data every month"

@kiwifidget We spoke about this on page1 in this thread

Yes, as can I. But @davidcole experience would suggest that what you get is not what you see.
I have a 10GB plan, and 69GB of carryover, and plan renews in 6 days.
Should I try using up 10GB on the secondary device and see what happens?
Edit to add: or is everyone satisfied that Open Sharing is still working as expected?

Yes we did. But @davidcole has made me question whether Open Sharing is not working as advertised either.

That, I can't say as I've never used this before. But, I agree with OP that it makes sense to be able to share whatever data one has, including any carry-over data.

@kiwifidget 110% valid actually I suspect ' Open Sharing ' is no longer working as it did before and only sharing from the pay monthly base plan data and not the carryover data
@kiwifidget quote from the 2degrees website
" Open Sharing
Go wild and share all your data, every month. With Open Sharing, it's first come first served. It’s a great worry-free way to ensure that none of your sharers goes hungry for data "
This looks to be the case no longer - Trying to get it confirmed by 2degrees but front line staff are saying nothing has changed
I'll try to delve into the 2Degree app a little more when I get home tonight and see what my Wife's plan is, and what the makeup of plan data vs carry over data is.
EDIT: I'd emailed support about this last night, and just received a survey request for "how was your response at 28/07 14:20" - which at the time of writing is 2 hours away. no email had been received, unless they called my sons phone (which is turned off while he's at school)

I've just had a CSR state to me that
"You're absolutely right—Carryover Data cannot be shared. Only data from an active plan is eligible for sharing."
To which I said :
There is nothing in the following passage that states that sharing data is restricted to active plan data:
Got gigabytes to spare? Why not dish out some data love to your nearest and dearest?
If you’re on a Pay Monthly or Business Choice plan that offers Carryover Data, you can share your New Zealand data with up to five other devices that use a 2degrees SIM.
There is no additional cost to sharing data. You can manage how much data and how frequently you want to share, and stop or start it at any time.
If you’re on an eligible plan you can share all or a chunk of your New Zealand data with up to five other 2degrees friends or family for free. Or, if you’d prefer to keep it for yourself, you can share it across up to five of your devices with 2degrees SIMs. Either way, sharing is caring.
