I've recently moved from 500/100 Fibre, to 100/20 Fibre with One NZ. It's called Fibre Starter, and only costs $65 per month with unlimited data. The 100/20 speed is more than sufficient, and in the few months since I changed I've not experienced any slow downs or issues during peak times. If looking to save $$, most people dont need 500/100 or gigabit, consider 100/20 which might be more than sufficient for what you need. Most of my speed tests perform around 110/28.

Most ISP's offer this as it is a regulated product with a retail cap of $70 (Was $65 last year). because of this, a smaller provider who will give you better support (and normally less contension) wuld be a better choice in my opinion.

Some ISPs like 2Degrees and Primo offer discounts for SuperGold card holders. Slingshot is owned by 2Degrees so they might be able to do the same discount if asked?

Example from Quic, but all have some "level" of plan options that differ in transfer speeds

I'm a high data user (IMO), running some services from home etc, was on 900/400 but dropped to 500/100 and noticed no change so far.

So switching down is not a bad idea. Save some $$.

I'm using Quic but as someone else mentioned, its "self help" if you have issues.

When our current contract finishes we will be following suit and opting for the 500/100 plan. My wife retires in circa 12 months and wont be working from home and I don't game these days. I can't see the need for 900/500 anymore.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

It's called Unlimited - to the left of Unlimited Gigantic. Unlimited is $15/month cheaper.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

For many people the base 100/20Mbit plan will also be suitable. Have a look at that. You can always upgrade if it isn't suitable!

@gnfb I actually think you may be fine with the 100/20Mbit plan too and save a fair bit of money.

Take a look at the One NZ Fibre Starter plan - https://one.nz and just pick your poison with mobile (it'll be good if you can post your usage so somebody here can recommend you a plan) else even take a look at the 2degrees Supergold deals here: https://www.2degrees.nz/mobile-plans/supergold-plan

If you find 100/20Mbit too slow you can always upgrade to 500/100Mbit but for many people out there 100Mbit is plenty fast enough.
