It is if you sell PBX systems and have to put in ARS translation tables. Telecom and TC are easy but Vodafone looks like this.

0210 XXX XXXX (Total 11 digits)
0211 XXX XXX ( 10 digits)
0212 XXX XXX ( 10 digits)
0213 XX XXX ( 9 digits)
0214 XX XXX ( 9 digits)
0215 XX XXX ( 9 digits)
0216 XX XXX ( 9 digits)
0217 XX XXX ( 9 digits)
0218 XX XXX ( 9 digits)
0219 XX XXX ( 9 digits)

That's only the dial entry tables . Then you have to configure the dial output tables. 7 digit numbering would mean 1 entry..

That's right, only some of the 0210 numbers are 11 digits, some are 10.

Well I know that when I got it there were no 8 digit ones, and many of the exchange students at tech got 0210xxxxxxx and found them undialable from many other countries and calling cards - if the fix for that has made it so I cant be called on my prepay that would be very annoying...

Shh, don't talk too loudly about 6 digit numbers, someone at Vodafone might notice and add a pesky digit to my perfectly happy 6 digit Bellsouth number :)

I hope they do.  I'd be quite happy if they did.  Just ad a 2 in front of all existing 6 digit numbers..  I have a 0216xxxxx number at work.. Would be quite happy for it to go to 02126xxxxx which is what Vodafone should have done at the same time Telecom did it

Or be like those people that peeled off the 5 and wrote 74 on their cars with a marker when damps shutdown...

Companies will be referred to by their proper names on this site, otherwise it just degenerates into a mess, and discourages companies concerned from engaging in useful dialog with users here.

Thanks for the correction, that is fair comment, I will keep it in mind.
However 10+ years of poor customer service and charges identical to the significant other player leaves one less than enthusiastic about Vodafone NZ Ltd and their willingness to provide affordable mobile service to private users.
Perhaps 2degrees will encourage some genuine competition, or at least a slightly pathetic facsimile of such, given our small market...
So, given that we agree that service providers should reasonably be called by their proper names, are any interested in a genuine effort to prove that some initiative can be shown when it come to agreeing on termination rates, and providing calling plans that can still make a profit for the business, yet demonstrate a point of different between providers?

0210 followed by 3,4,5,6,7 is a total of 7 digits after the 021.
Other 0210 numbers are 8 digits after the 021.
I maintain a largeish phone system and only had to ask Vodafone 5 or so times for this info. :)

2degrees posted our organisation a letter asking us to check our CRM/Phone system to ensure they could accept 022 numbers.

(edited because I advised the opposite of what was true) :)
