moshpit77: I also have trouble with some landlines not being able to call my phone>

If landlines can not call your mobile number on the 2D network don't take it out on 2D

Those landline customers should be contacting there provider and logging a fault with them

issues should be investigated from the A carrier (carrier starting the call) to the B carrier

I can't complain about the outstanding support I've had from 2Degrees on this issue, although it's yet to be resolved.

My wife successfully sent a text back to a 2Degrees staff person doing some tests, but I don't receive anything from her. The current theory seems to be that because I ported my number, the carriers' database has yet to be updated with the new network to which my number is now allocated. Although my port took place 16 days ago now.

Perhaps JohnR could comment on what is a reasonable time to expect?

John, not yours -- Sybase, the international hub service we (and you, actually) use to reach the US. They do NZ portability, but I think they might be a bit behind. I've got a Vodafone ported in number that was able to receive OK, but it was ported in a few months ago.

John, yes she can call me fine, just not text.

I did receive an SMS from Australia last week, but not from a colleague who texted me from tMobile in the US.

Telstra, Optus & 3/Hutch all come to us direct. Vodafone AU uses Sybase. I know VFAU can terminate to us via Sybase successfully (I'm an Aussie myself, and most of my family are on Vodafone AU), but again I suspect a porting issue with Sybase so it rather comes down to what network the Australian number sent from.

2degrees:

Hi there,

There has been no message set to us via Geekzone from you - hence the reason you haven't had a reply.
As far as the UK goes, it’s only Vodafone UK that are currently unable to SMS to us, and this is to be fixed shortly. The other operators work both ways (we have tested them).
In the US, AT&T & T-Mobile are both tested working both ways, but there might be delays with Sybase updating their number portability (if you've ported recently).

Cheers!
2degrees

Can you reply in this thread when SMS from VFUK to NZ is fixed... I txt my Sister who is in UK regularly but haven't done so with my 2degrees sim yet because of these apparent faults... I'm still just using my VF sim until it's fixed...

Thanks
