Back to the topic - I was watching the trailer for Up in the air and noticed The Passenger is one of the songs in the soundtrack... Really cool.

Also got this press release now:

Thursday 22 October is your last chance to get jiggy with Iggy!

The deadline for all auditions for the new Orcon ad campaign with Iggy Pop closes at 12 noon this Thursday (22 Oct.).

We have already been inundated with more than 100 auditions, but there is still time for people get their auditions in if they hurry.

On 30 October, eight talented New Zealand musicians will connect to Iggy’s Miami studio via Orcon broadband, with everyone in the band laying down a track and Iggy performing the vocals.

The American studio is going to capture all the audio and video feeds and create a unique musical and video rendition of ‘The Passenger’. The music and footage is then going to be used to create commercials and a full music video.

So whether you are the lead singer, play guitar, bass, hit the drums, take off your shirt…whatever…get online at www.facebook.com/orcon before noon on Thursday for your chance to jam with the Godfather of Punk courtesy of Orcon.

The final ad will be available for viewing on the Orcon website and on TV from 16 November.

Not quite the final result though Mauricio!

This was just the recording of the live stream (on which we had some audio tech difficulties). The finished product will premier on November the 16th on the Orcon site, and you will also be able to see some of the stuff that went on behind the scenes to make it all happen.

Has been an amazing day! Hope you guys enjoy.

LOL love the frozen video on some of the monitors... sure does show off the 'excellent' international bandwidth capacity!

Maybe it's just me, but it all sounds like a muddled mess.. Certainly doesn't achieve anything in its goal of showing off Orcon's broadband.

Watching those monitors was like watching HD YouTube clips! Probably wasnt the best scenario to showcase what Kiwi's can do with Orcon Broadband as shown in the live recording but it was a good attempt, it does show NZ have some talented musicians tucked away. Thanks for posting up the live recording, while its not the final result its the one that counts, the final cut is just what people can do with A/V editing.
