richms: Perhaps. I didnt realize that the 2 degrees are was so small around Auckland. When they said they had covered the main centers, I thought they have covered the main centers, not just the populated parts of them.

Their coverage is pretty extensive in Auckland actually. Goes as far west as Piha, as far south as Papakura (and further I think), as far north as at least Orewa (not sure if it extends beyond that though). There is a bit of Vodafone roaming overlap in the extereme west/north/south but generally 2degrees covers most of the Greater Auckland population.

Last time I was up north the last 2D site was up as far as the last BP station prior to the tunnel. I can't recall whether the Orewa township has 2D coverage. So coverage up to at least just before Orewa. Your observation about Drury sounds right though.
