I have a question regarding 2Degrees coverage and the roaming on Vodafone's network.


I was in the Tongariro national park last week end and I noticed that my cellphone displayed the "No Service" message, even though the reception icon was displaying "some" reception (3 or 4 bars out of 5).


I had a look inside my phone's menu and it appeared that the phone was getting some Vodafone signal. This was confirmed by other people who were able to get phone service.


My question is:
Should my 2Deg phone ALWAYS get coverage where there is Vodafone coverage?
Is there anything special to set up on the phone to allow for this?
