so far within 12 months of 'life' 2degrees has made much better head way that both VF and Telecom have in 10+ years in terms of pricing and growth. Looking forward to the MTR regulation...

Very true!! I'm sure they are quite happy with themselves.
They hit the right market and they know their target market quite well.

Price point is everything and giving the people what they want is another :)

I was all decided on a new phone and network as I am changing jobs and losing my work phone. 2  Degrees is the best pre pay for me and I have managed to grab an 022 version of my home number!

As for the phone I had settled on the Nokia 5130 which at $150 is a really good deal. However it is edge only which is fine for mobile browsing i.e. visiting mobile optimised web sites. But if 3G is coming to 2D soon may be I should be looking for a 3G phone.

Is EDGE available every where the phone says 2 degrees?

Not really; it will still say 2degrees while Vodafone roaming too. But EDGE is only available while in our coverage. Vodafone has 3G and GPRS, no EDGE.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

These comments are my own and do not represent the opinions of 2degrees.

SaltyNZ: Relax boys, 3G is coming! We're just making sure it's going to be the best it can be before we unleash it on New Zealand. :-)

But it's on 2100 so what happens outside the metro areas?? ?2100 is not renowned for it's long distance ?hence the reason Telecom use 8500 and Voda 900..

2degrees customers will be able to roam onto the Vodafone NZ 3G extended network

John

Hi John,
Just for clarification... 2degrees customers can roam the Vodafone NZ 3G extended network (900mhz) when they are aready to turn it on, can they also roam onto the Vodofone 2100mhz network as well? For example will the the iPhone 3GS on 2degrees roam on Vodafone's 2100mhz 3G network?

Thanks

I think 2Degrees is building its own 2100MHz network aren't they? It'll probably cover most places the Vodafone network does already.

I find the current 2Degrees data speed fine for surfing m. sites (most of my common sites have m versions) but the coverage is non existent outside urban areas.

I am pretty excited about 3G access without contracts.

And by 'pretty' I of course mean 'very'.
