why wont they be able to text you back?

Because it will cost them 20c a text.

i thought everyone had text packs these days :)

with 2degrees im getting 400 free texts a month ($40 a month top up).

and if all your friends are errr "cheap" (dont mean to offend or anything), but wouldnt they also be interested in switching to the cheaper network, a lot cheaper network?

Don't forget for $10 you also get 1000 texts. so for a $20 topup you can get 1200 texts... with $10 for calling...

Sorry to correct you SteveON, that should be 1,100 texts.

$20 top-up gets you 100 texts and if you sign up to the $10 text pack before the end of August you'll get 1000 per 30 days till the end of the year.  But you're right that still leaves you with $10 to do what you want.
Cheers

dontpanic42: Does anyone know if the 2degrees MicroSIM comes with a regular SIM adaptor?

No, they are just the microSIM size piece, no adapter.

Thanks Salty Smile
I guess the next question is can we buy an adapter from 2degrees, or do we have to go elsewhere?

I don't think we have adapters for sale, but I am not really sure. I was however holding a box of SIMs today, so I am sure there's no double punch out.

tardtasticx: And why can 2Degress charge absolutly nothing for a MicroSim yet Vodafone charges $30 for a Microsim swap or a normal Sim swap and $35 bux for a new connection. This is so unfair. I really want to swap but all my mates are on vodafone so they wont be able to text me back

They can txt you back...you're just not worth the cost....eh. ;-)

Might have to get a regular SIM, sit the microSIM on top and cut out a home-made SIM adaptor. If I ever need to.

Can I go to DSE, purchase a microSIM and have the $20 credit that is on that card applied to my current account, or is that just a silly way of topping up.

I just asked DSE and they told me that they have no 2degrees microSIM cards for the iPad until later in the month.

They do however have microSIM cards for the iPhone 4. Apparently theres a difference?

Product code: E3784. It's not on the website yet.

They will work in an iPad, and they have the SIM Toolkit texting application. Go for broke!

You can send texts, but apple won't let you receive. Go figure.
