scottjames84: Finally got connected this afternoon, on hold with them now to find out why I do not have naked DSL yet, just standard broadband with their homeline and trying to find out why usenet servers only download max 4-5kbps.

Many ISPs no longer have a newserver.

Sadly I am currently havign a similar experiance with Slingshot.   Also moving from Telecom Big Time to Slingshot Naked.

Signed up end of July, 7 weeks later and after numerous calls to the call centre I am STILL NOT connected.   I have had to ring telecom a couple of times now and get them to reconnect the broadband as I need the broadband for business.

As stated before, their customer service is poor but they are they only provider that offer naked DSL with unlimited off peak sadly :(

Possibly a silly/inflammatory question; but if you need the broadband for business, why are you going through Slingshot? They're a residential provider. You'd be better off going for a commercial ISP so you'd get better SLA's etc

I live in a flat of 6, of which half are massive downloaders so have to go through it for off peak unlimited data

Most homes have 2 lines (2 pairs) coming in, if you need more reliable internet for work get Maxnet, Snap or Xnet Naked ADSL on the 2nd line.

amazes me that people will post open letters without proof reading, or punctuating for that matter.
