You sure you'll get decent reach of the 2degrees network from all the places you're expecting it, within your main city location? Although the bundle sounds really attractive, I've had friends say that reception, even in the suburbs close to the central city, can be a bit spotty and variable...

No idea really but I do have a 2D SIM card that is inactive now (didn't top it up for a year). However when put into a phone it shows 2Degrees and signal strength (3/5 bars and 3G in my Khandallah location at present which is a hard area for reception). I will carry it around and compare signals around the places I usually frequent and check.

Your SIM might still be active. After the initial activation or any top up the account remains 'active' for 365 days. If you haven't topped up in that time you then have a 30 day 'grace' period to give you more time to top-up and keep your number. After 395, if no top-up has been made, the account is closed.

I called the HD and the SIM can't be reactivated. No biggie since the number wasn't anything special. I had hoped I could give it to my son and then he transfers his VF number to it but then I see I can get a $20 SIM with $20 calls on it so will just do that.

Slightly OT but when will 2D start to open up some more numbers so people can have 021-xxx-xxx and 022-xxx-xxx where xxx-xxx is the same on both networks?

Shame about the expired SIM. No news on opening up more numbers, but if and when we do it'll no doubt be posted on our website as well as Facebook and Twitter.

You might be lucky and find those numbers already available. Have you searched in Your 2degress - Change your number option?

Why make people do thast? Why not just add it automatically? It's not hard to do - it's easy to forget though

Hi, just to let you know, we've changed this as from today so all new customers signing up or switching to Pay Monthly from Pre-Pay will get the bonus minutes added automatically. However, if you signed up before today you will have to text 'bonus 100' to 233 before the end of October to claim them.

For $25 / month on an account, Vodafone provide unlimited everything between 4 numbers (the other 3 can be account or pre-pay).

That may be cheaper for your wife and two daughters. We're on the "Family" option and can talk, txt, PXT or 3G video call without any limits.

My minutes are only for calling other people.

I'm on Smart 3 for $80/month. That includes 120 minutes, lots of txts and about a thousand PXTs and 250MB of data....but through it I've had access to the 3GB promo since July 2009....and it is now indefinite.

For $80/month, I'm happy.

Well on all the phones I have used, I get signal loss etc., when driving down the Onslow Road to the Old Hutt Road on VF so it can't be worse than that can it?

Even XT signal is bad so either way our place doesn't get good signal. It's all good though, good to know there is 3G in Khandallah anyway

No use to me since I call outside the family a fair bit. And I call to other networks. I plan to move my phone to 2D and get the data addon while my wife will just move to 2D on the $39/month plan. There's no long term committment so the risk is pretty low.

I have to say that this is one of the best selling points of the 2 Degrees offering. I personally hate fixed term arrangements because if my telco fails to deliver then I reserve the right to vote with my feet.

Yep, you can get MicroSIMs for iP4's from DSE stores @ $20. If you're going to use it in an iPad we've put some info on our website - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/microsim.

Re the coverage in Onslow Rd, Khandallah you probably would only get 2G/Edge until we put a tower down. Up towards Cashmere the 3G signal should cut in.
