That's what I mean,

langers1972: Wonder if there are plans for the X5 and/or X6, they look the business:

To answer my own question, yes they will:

See this, the X5 looks pretty handy

ewen: Can anyone with one comment on video playback??

I'll think I'll probably get one as well, can you get the $150 prepay discount deal from the online store?

What do you want to know?  Just watched youtube and the quality is perfect, cant say it lags etc.

Spong: I know it's a long shot, but if the Huawei X5 is available from 2D before 31st December, I'd probably go for one of them with the $150 topup rebate rather than the Optimus. Anyone know whether that's likely?
Don't expect that to happen. It's early half 2011.

Cheers, I was wondering about youtube playback and also about movie playback (say average 700mb movie) with RockPlayer or similar.

Picked up an LG Optimus P500 today at DSE Wairau Park. Price at DSE is $404 until tomorrow 13th, and I got the free $150 2D top up, effectively bringing the price down to $254. Pretty amazing really. My first experience of Android as a learning experience after being an iPhone 2G user. Looking good so far.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz

We just got 2 from Dicksmith for $319 ea including free $150 2degrees top ups ! Smile

We both plan to change form VFNZ asap. My wife when her $17 VFNZ prepaid balance runs out and since I am VFNZ on account [no contract] when I am motivated too LOL

Anyhow we have our current VFNZ SIMs in these handsets but have noticed a couple of odd issues:

1. Is -81 dBm 13 asu [whatever asu is] good ? I ask as we notice sometimes it takes a while for txts to show as sent [like 10 minutes] voice calls seem to go straight away

2. We both sent test a pxt and noticed they both just say sending...[it has been like that for over an hour !] what could the issue be ? is there something I need to setup with this handset to make it work properly on VFNZ until we change to 2degrees ?
