keewee01: I've just gone through the on line sign up process (decided to just go on it month-by-month rather than stuff around with doing it in store) and I have to say - WOW!! It was almost too easy!!

Thought I would have an issue with sign up due to drivers license, but nope, it liked me. My only issue was that I actually read the entire terms and conditions (yep - from start to finish, some skimming over unimportant bits) and by the time I went to click on accept/subscribe or whatever the button was at the bottom my Your 2degrees session had timed out so I had to log in again. But luckily it had saved all my details already so I just clicked on 'Sign Up to Pay Monthly' and click the final button to Sign Up. And a couple of minutes later the credit check had been done and my application had been accepted and I was on Pay Monthly.

So easy!!!

So I think I will port this afternoon! Will report back on that later.

I went ahead and ported yesterday afternoon and I am now VF-free (apart from my final bill). Once I do the same for my wife we will also be Telecom-free. Am I right in thinking that when I register the SIM I have for her and port her across that she will be on a separate 2degrees account?

The first attempt at a port failed as I had apparently entered something wrong in the online form, but the second attempt worked wonderfully. It took longer than I was hoping (4 hours), but the outage was only brief. YAY.

I am a little annoyed though as my phone decided to download updates for the Andriod apps while I was out last night and while the porting was still going on and it ran me out of my data allowance part way through the update process. Within minutes of getting the alert that my nationwide data allowance was running low I text buy50mb but I never got a response back and I never had the new pack applied to my account, AND it has now cost me $12. Could someone from 2degrees please comment as I am concerned that the text was sent but nothing was applied to my account. Thanks.

Otherwise I am really happy with how it all went and with 2degrees.

@&!@#@ - I take back my annoyance with 2degrees over the data pack and place that annoyance on myself!! It seems fat fingers typed in big50mb rather than buy50mb! That's the problem when rushing to buy new pack before the data costs start to bite whilst waiting on hold on a landline for TelstraClear for an hour whilst trying to sort out parents internet connection problem.  LOL

Hmmm - right, I've also bought an IDEOS for my wife for Christmas and I wanted to register it for Pay Monthly ahead of Christmas, but it won't let me do it in my name as I've already done a phone onto Pay Monthly. Is there away around this, as I pay all our bills, etc. Thanks.
