khull: hm makes me wonder why i'm paying $130 for 75gb

Speed and reliability.

Orcon seems to be somewhat lacking in that department still (going by reading recent forum posts on various nz forums).

So I guess if you value lower price over peak time performance/reliability, you should probably hit up their new plans.

Sounddude:
Ragnor: Is peak time performance decent on Orcon now? Going by that mega thread on GZ not to long ago there were still significant issues.

Alot of changes have been done since then :-)

Appreciate your posts Sounddude.

However reading through recent posts on gp it seems like there still quite a few people posting about problems.

Q: Are all churns to Orcon being put on EUBA plans?  Are Orcon using the higher rate EUBA plans yet (100kbit CIR)?

Yes we put customers on EUBA where avalible by default. (Assuming they can't go on the Orcon+ network).

Currently EUBA is unrestricted. We also have EUBA handovers all over NZ being installed, so we backhaul on our own network, so we can control the quality.

Its a shame you think that.

Most of those guys complaining have poor performance to Auckland sites (which are peered with Ape), so most of those are probably line faults or in badly performing UBA areas.

As mentioned, anyone off a decent exchange is put onto EUBA (or the Orcon+ network). Those people should get a pretty good experience.

I can confirm that I have not had any significant ongoing connection issues with Orcon for 6+ months. I am particularly sensitive to them as well.

Ditto.
