I don't know what you're complaining about, the less people know the more bandwidth there will be to go around

TrueNet would be pleased to provide the results from monitoring by our probes for the weekend to show any differences. Problem is while we have a few snap probes we don't have many in the South Island.

Go to www.TrueNet.co.Nz to volunteer so we can measure Snap better :)

Just an update on the All you can eat Weekend, there is a huge amount of data going through the network at the moment (as we expected) however there is a issue with latency, which started around 11am - we are working on this and it will be resolved really soon, I'll post back here as soon as its fixed - we expect before 1pm

Apart from that the network is performing well, and we can see that lots of people are making good use of their free data!

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Also - something I forgot to mention, we have updated our My Snap section of the website so that you can view the total amount of free data you have used.

iamelephant, I have asked our helpdesk to give you a call, as your issue seems to be outside our network somewhere, maybe at the exchange, or configuration at your end, there is no congestion at our end, so you should be experiencing the same sort of experience as you would any other day.

It's a shame this wasn't at the end of the steam summer sale.

I can't seem to see this, or has it disappeared now that the weekend has ended? I'm curious to know how much I downloaded.

In general I was pretty impressed at the performance considering all the downloading that was going on.  Well done Snap!

Yes and in fact some more statistics about how much data was transferred during this weekend by all the customers will be interesting to see if this info is not 'confidential'.

Personally I will like to see the free offpeak data as an add-on ($10-12) along the all you can eat youtube and others. This will incite people to download large amount of data at times that may less impact the total network load. The way it is setup actually where you buy your 3 night of free offpeak data does not really suits me since I cannot precisely select which nights in the month will be having free offpeak, I'll prefer either all nights offpeak or at least to be able to precisely select when I will be using my free offpeak nights.

Apart from that thanks Snap!

Actually that is a damned good idea, either free offpeak OR a single monthly price for off-peak if free is not possible.  I would certainly make use of that as I often find I don't download stuff such as game demos or xbox live stuff because I don't want to use my cap (even though its currently set at 60Gb).

But yeah, awesome weekend Snap dudes.  Latency was the same to the UK as I have been getting, data throughput was fine... Steam was a little off at times but was able to pull 500Kb/s during the day...

Would love to know how much data was chewed throughout the entire weekend...
