Hi friends of snap!,

With the recent disruptions in Christchurch we would just like to thank all our customers – both in Christchurch and Nationwide by offering a special deal to all snap! users.

From midnight Saturday July 2 0:00 to midnight Sunday July 3 24:00 (48 hours), all data on your snap! DSL broadband connection won't be counted. That's right, we've told the bean counters to look the other way, and let our users set the wire on fire and the bits ablaze.

What's more, we'll remove the caps of anyone who is currently over the monthly data usage limit between Saturday and Sunday too so everyone can have fun.

It’s just our way of saying thanks for everyone’s support, and we hope you make good use of our Free Data Weekend!

By the way if you think we are great, feel free to vote for us at http://www.ilovemytelco.co.nz/

Thanks,
Mark

Do you perhaps mean midday Saturday July 2? Midnight Saturday July 2 would mean it is 24 hours, and would simply mean all day Sunday.

Sorry Yes - I've edited the above post to make it a bit more clear - basically its all Day Saturday and all Day Sunday.

I might be able to share some stats with everyone after the weekend, we are planning on the load increasing significantly - but we are confident that all our customers will continue with the same level of service as per any other day!

Does this apply to snap prepaid customers (uni halls) as well?

There has been a bit of a delay on the Auckland handover - apologies for this, at this stage we have actually moved many customers over to handovers in the North Island, however they are still being terminated on BRAS's in Christchurch - which of course does not satisfy the issues of higher than we would like latency for those customers, pending any large aftershocks or issues we are very confident that we will have our our North Island customers terminated directly in the North Island and not via Christchurch by at least the end of next month.

This should not involve an outage, but will simply just be a re-authentication of your DSL router, so will happen next time you reboot etc, we will post here once this is ready to go.

One thing I need to point out is that this is only for customers connected to ASDL2 DSLAM's if you are on an ADSL1 only DSLAM (ATM) unfortunately our plans are a bit longer to move direct to an Auckland handover.

Hope this helps,

Thanks
Mark
