Yes my inbound calls are going through Genius. I can answer calls with Genius or with the old analogue phones. Not sure it matters as it its handy to have the extra phones.
Incidentally the Orcon voicemail is also still working. I thought that would have gone with the start of Genius

So you where already a Orcon Customer on LLU before Genius?,  It's making sense now so we will clean this up on Monday as this could impact your Genius at some stage If it stays like this.

I have some of the same issues.
Changed to Genius on Friday night.
Check voice mail sat morning and got an email all good so I thought.
Voicemail has gone back to the old system on Sunday?
I did get cut off on a call sat morning when someone else tried to ring
havent had this happen again?
Call quailty is ok some ghosting and lag etc hoping once everything is sorted I hope this will improve?
I also had a private number which has gone? is this able to be put back on with Genius?
I was also a current Orcon customer with both phone and internet
Still early days but the wife is getting a little grrr about itLaughing

edaw: Does Genius work on the wholesale plans or just Orcon +?

Orcon+ and any cabinet or exchange that' supports EUBA (which will be everywhere by the end of the year)

And I believe POP (point of presence) too - i.e. anywhere they can have their local calling numbers live, which is not everywhere yet.

I had a cutoff issue with the call waiting as well when it was first activated, I just restarted the router and its been fine ever since.
No echo etc however, all my calls have been crystal clear.

When you say a "private" number... do you mean it had callerID disabled (so it dosent show when you ring others) or something else ?

Should I still be able to access my voicemail via 789?

I had problems with my Genius! from the outset... was incorrectly told the voice calls would come off my data allowance... but still, it was a nice surprise to find out they wouldn't.  That was the best bit of the experience.

I  got a text at 6am in the morning to tell me it was active, and an email at 6.07am saying the same thing, but my home lines were still working, so I could not plug it in.
I phoned to see why the phone line was still working, and they said it's because the engineer/technician had completed the roadside work outside business hours, so an automatic email and text gets sent out, but the line can't be switched to Genius until office hours, and then it takes a while... because finally, just before 11am it switched over.

Got everthing set up reasonably ok, BUT... problems.

1) Worst problem was only people on Orcon and Vodafone networks could call me, otherwise they got error messages saying 'this number is not in service'.  Multiple calls to Orcon, and nothing fixed it - just some stuff about porting and they'd get it sorted, but they had said that all day.  In the end, in desparation, I called an outside organisation who are 'in the know' about these things, and they told me that Orcon should have escalated it to Telecome because the routing had been muched up and they had treated it as a RQ and not a port (whatever that means).  20 minutes later the outside organisation had fixed up this issue for me, whereas by 5pm Orcon had not been able to do it, despite having had 6 hours!

2) When I am on the phone and a call comes in, you can't hear a damned word of what's being said on the first phone call.  It doesn't just beep, it blanks it out.

3) No one told me that the voicemail access number would change from 083210 (because I used to be on a wholesale line) to 789 with the Genius, and I was left to figure that one out myself.  I didn't even know it was being switched from Telecom Wholesale, because when I moved here they told me it was unavailable at my address and I had to downgrade to a lousy plan which cost me more.

4) My voicemails are not going to my computer.  Orcon tell me they have the correct email address on my account and it should be going there, but 2 days later I am still waiting for them to fix it.

5) There was no phone manual in the box... had to figure it out myself, but it's good to have a manual to refer back to.  Was told to download one from a link on the iinet website.

The pluses are my internet is faster, but apart from that and the savings, I am not particularly pleased in the way things have been handled.  I know it's in it's infancy, but still, it would have been great if Orcon had've employed more staff to deal with the amount of queries they may have got in a timely manner.

Orcon have advised on another thread in this forum that they are working on a fix for the call waiting and hope to have it working in a week or so
You may know now if you press the R button on handset it will switch you to the second caller. If you press it again it will revert back to 1st caller but of course you cannot talk to them. Once the second caller hangs up you can talk to fist caller again if they are still there

Thanks for that, I will try it next time it happens. Any word anywhere about the voicemail though? I've logged into my account on the Orcon website and can see they have the correct email address, but still the voicemails are not being sent as wav files. Not sure if there's something I am supposed to be configuring my end too.
