Thanks to help from Orcon I got enabled yesterday and have spent last night getting everything running.

Some  points worth noting. Although it seems to be working fine I have problems with these things.

1. There does not seem to be an easy way to lock the router down to a single MAC address for DHCP. Maybe I am missing something its not a biggie but just annoying.

2. My old phone system still seems to be going is that mormal. It has changed dial tome to same as Genius phone but I thought that once VOIP kicked in the old system stopped. Am I wrong there?

3. The voice file from Orcon Answer service is encoded wih some wierd codec. I could not get it going on any WIN7 PC's at work despite scratching around for new codecs. I examined the file and it is using a different codec from most wav files but when I got home it seems to play perfectly OK. It plays on my phone also which is really wierd. I will investigate further.

4. The old voicemail service 789 still gets the Genius calls so will that stay that way. In some ways it is more useful when travelling as I dont always leave data on out of Auckland

Can anyone enlighten me re above

Thanks

Orcon+ and any cabinet or exchange that' supports EUBA (which will be everywhere by the end of the year)

45kbps? useful if you run a dialup network :)

Average sub is over 100kbps these days.

Really? Telecom Wholesale guarentees 100kbps per subscription as standard? I must have missed that....

I think he means with EUBA0 and no artificial dimensioning of the ethernet handover that effective CIR's are well over 100kbps. I've heard some talk over the last few weeks of effective rates of 200kbps-400kbps on ISP's that have migrated users to EUBA0.

Can someone please tell me why my old phones are still working. I thought once my Genius kicked in the old phones would stop working. However the old phones are still working. Should they work?

It does not sound right, I'm guessing your inbound calls are going through Genius now? When the port has completed your Telecom line should stop working unless Telecom have some backend issues.
