openmedia: Reception today is crazy. For a couple of ours I had 4 bars, and no I have nothing. Shame I've got loads of minutes to use up and can't make any calls.

Sounds like a fault on the Vfone site. Have you reported this to 2 degrees.?

Its not a fault we have a new site in planning to improve coverage for this area and its not years off,

New coverage for Waitakere Township is getting built now

John

Thanks for the update John. I'll consider Vodafone and 2degree's once reception issues have been resolved.

quickymart: I was wondering about that too, everytime I've been to Waitakere (on the train, admittedly) the Vodafone reception was quite poor, but CDMA/XT was good. Glad it's getting improved John :)

I'm in the same boat, love the 2D plans but coverage at work is an issue where I was caught in the middle between the edge of 2D coverage in Hamilton and vodafone roaming hence the phone swapping networks an awful lot.
Once 2D starts to expand rurally I'll consider them again.

I'm considering moving as well, again thanks to poor coverage on the part of 2Degrees - some friends live on Glenmore Street, in Wellington, and every time I'm there I get no coverage from 2Degrees (that, or it constantly switches between roaming at 5 bars and not roaming at 1/2 a bar, which is equally frustrating). Their value is currently keeping on the network, but if I keep finding myself in dead spots, it'll probably be over to Telecom (and paying more for less in every area except reception).

Have to say where I live in the Hutt Valley I get good coverage with 2 degrees. Have a look at Slingshot they have recently launched using the XT network.
