Well I've managed to last  6 months on 2 degrees and as much as I love my plan I can't live without mobile reception at home. It isn't mobile specific, were simply to far from the nearest Vodafone Cell site, but with Telecom I'd have 5 bars of coverage.

I'll probably drop a 2degree's pre-pay in a phone to keep an eye on coverage to see if things change in the future, meanwhile I've got the pleasure of paying Telecom nearly twice as much per month for similar minutes and data.

Sorry to see you go, hopefully you will get coverage via Vodafone or 2degrees directly some time and you can come back :)

Where do you live BTW?

Just got back from a holiday up north - 90 Mile Beach. No 3G access on my phone, not even not even in Whangarei.

I love 2D too, but the coverage is terrible...even at my beach house, which is admitedly (spelling?) in the hills, I got 2 bars but could not receive txts (could send *sometimes*) and could not make or recieve calls. Funny though - when I was on Vodafone in teh same place it was fine, yet 2D in Ahipara uses the Voda tower?? Perhaps there's been changes to teh tower there.

Also I find not being able to txt to park a pain, I can't dial *555 and can't use 018.

I'm struggling, 2D, throw me a lifeline!

Callplus/Slingshot are supposedly launching retail mobile services on the XT network fairly soon as a MVNO. Perhaps they will give a better deal once they release their retail offerings.

Just a thought.

Why can't you use *555 and 018?

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

Now that's just weird. I tried both of these in the past - 018 just last week - and they didn't work. I guess since then *555 is now going (yay!) and also 018 from Wellington.

Last week in Kaitaia I tried 018 and got a can't use this service message....it works here in Welly?

I've been using *555 for the last year on 2Degrees. Odd.

I haven't moved to another company yet but am pretty close to, the reception is pretty crap, always losing signal at my house and can very rarely get 3g coverage at work.  I live in Massy East, Auckland and work out by Whenuapai.
I love what 2 degrees has done and am only holding in there due to they need support and hopefully they will bring out more great deals.  The other thing is, if i move, i would be moving over the rest of family as well so please 2 degrees can you get some more cell sites put up.

Another issue I have with 2D (yeah I know, another whinge) is that we have 3 cells with them in the family, and I have to log in to the website each time as a differnt number to top it up or do whatever.

And yes I know I can top up via the phone etc, but I don't want to do that - I want to be able to log in as a 'master' account and have access to each phone and do whatever I need there.

I know Voda and Telecom can't do this either but I sure wish someone would....

Waimauku. Until the RBI roll out increases the number of transmitters my nearest is Kumeu so I get 1 bar if I'm lucky.

Reception today is crazy. For a couple of ours I had 4 bars, and no I have nothing. Shame I've got loads of minutes to use up and can't make any calls.

Sounds like a fault on the Vfone site. Have you reported this to 2 degrees.?

Been in the system for 4 months and won't be fixed until the RBI expansion which is probably years away. Hence I've just ported over to Telecom and I'm already up and running which is excellent.

I was wondering about that too, everytime I've been to Waitakere (on the train, admittedly) the Vodafone reception was quite poor, but CDMA/XT was good. Glad it's getting improved John :)
