SuperHemi: Thanks for the info salty. Any idea when the issue is likely to be resolved? Has been pretty frustrating having no mobile coverage for the last couple of days!

Operations tell me they've just finished rerouting all our international signaling via another carrier. Outbound SMS, USSD and voice just tried out ok. If you need to make a call, try now.

EDIT: bear in mind it will be slow, with a flood of traffic, and only one of two carriers up...

(Salty, you beat me to it!)

Hi, firstly apologies for the inconvenience. We're working with our roaming partners to get this fixed ASAP.

If you try now and it doesn't work try a fresh network search in Automatic, reboot the phone or device to get a signal.

Still not working in melbourne for either me or my brother (who is also a 2degrees customer).

Ive tried both automatic and manual network selection. Also tried rebooting my phone. No luck so far.

Voice, data and SMS should be working with our roaming partners networks.  It's being monitored but no congestion or alarms are showing.

If you are still having issues please let me know.

Still not working. I can see all the australian networks when i do a network search - just cant connect to any of them for some reason.

For example, if i try and manually select optus it says "resistering on yes optus", then eventually says "unable to connect. try later." The same thing happens no matter which network i select.

If i do an automatic network selection it says "registered on network" but i still cant call, text or use data.

Still not working for my brother too (who has a different phone and 2degrees sim, so i doubt there is a problem with my handset/settings).

Signed up here just to compose a reply.

Currently in Australia also, and have had no service since christmas day.

1 of my family members is here also and has had the same problem.

Tried all the things mentioned and have the same result as Super Hemi.

I have 2 major issues with 2degrees :
- There is no international support number or easily accessible NZ landline number that someone call outside of NZ. I had to call a physical store and ask them for a number that isn't the 0800 number to just try and find out what's going on (can't call 0800's from skype or international mobiles). This is really bad service in my opinion.

- The FAQ on the website is useless, and I would of expected a quicker update on twitter regarding this outage as it must be affecting A LOT of customers.

It looks like im now connected to the optus network, but i still cant call or txt. When i go to setings>about phone>status it says:

"Network: yes optus
Mobile network state: connected
Service state: out of service
Roaming: not roaming"

Seems like the network is failing to register/authenticate me properly.

Hi all, I am on the Mid coast above Sydney, town called Taree, my 2deg mobile went down on xmas day, 2deg tell me that all the NZ telco, 2Deg Vodafone and Telecom have no roaming to Australia, TVNZ have an article on there site saying that telecom have no international roaming to most of the world. Sounds like a big problem and as usual they want to keep it a secret and not mention it to there customers Grrr
So guess nothing we can do until they get it sorted.
9 pm 28th Dec 2011 now and it is still down.

On the 'Contact Us' page is the number to get hold of Customer Care when overseas - +6422 200 2000 - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/contactus.

We appreciate this has been frustrating for our overseas customers and have replied to customers on here, Twitter and Facebook with updates as we've received them.  We understand the inconvenience especially at this time of the year. We have been in constant contact with our roaming partners to get things working.

Voice should be working, problems have been with SMS.  However tests have been carried and now SMS is working between Optus and 2degrees.

If you are experiencing problems try a phone please call us on 0064 22 200 2000 from a landline.

Kind regards

Vodafone NZ has it's own links to AU and Vodafone NZ customers are not impacted in anyway and never were!

So not sure why you are getting told the above
