what do you get from here: http://speedtest.slingshot.co.nz/

perhaps your exchange is overloaded with slingshot users all of a sudden. wholesale ADSL connections are not provided with 1:1 bandwidth...

15mbps down, 1mbps up.

While I don't expect 1:1 (though would be nice), I atleast would expect usage internet at $113 a month.

your facebook tracert looks fine (about the same as mine), and you're obvioulsly getting full speed (15mbps) over the wire to slingshot so it cant be an exchange/cabinet overcrowding problem.

if you have another computer you can test with, that should rule out local pc issues such as antivirus etc

you should also make sure you do any tests with wired, not wireless, to rule out wifi issues.

if all that is covered, then i'd be inclined to say the issue is at the ISP end..

LNS?
DNS resolution time? Mind walking me through that one?

Seems local content has picked up considerably at the expense of any international traffic.

Facebook still quite slow; google is on again off again slow at the moment.
Youtube is still balls. Lucky to get 200-300kbps (approx. 40kb/s). videos that have millions of views are okay (being the most popular/cached)
though even this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dJCLaoBZvM&feature=related I only get 50kbps-200kbps (Just rmemeber this is an example. It doesnt mean its just this one video). So I can't stream even at the basic 360p.

I absolutely can confirm that its not my PC. Again, its been fine for months prior to this. I reinstall Windows regularly, and I also have tried a different PC. I also get the same result on my iPhone/iPad. (might I add that most nights the appstore can be close to un-usable).

My line stats are perfectly fine;
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:1.273 / 17.174      Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:5,0 / 11,5SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:12,5 / 12,0

I dont know what else I can do to show you guys...

Loading little images I friend sends me which is hosted on dropbox, files that are even 100kb or less, load like I'm on dialup.

streaming this file from youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGLTyTkqnmM&feature=related - can't stream it at 240p.

Im putting this down to shaping. Things download at line speed like that they used to, for example a download from a hosting site, then drops to 100kb/s.
Youtube does the same thing sometimes, starts off really well, then dies down to 200kbps or slower. Or I will just get crap right from the start.

I dont know what's happened over the last month, but someones flicked the wrong switch.

Also worth noting: Skype used to work fantastic, EVERY SINGLE TIME. The other day I jump on a phone call to a mate of mine who I used to speak to all the time (hes also on fibre) and I had the call drop about... 3 times? broken audio etc. There was no video on that chat.
