I think even the crickets have moved to Spark or One NZ.

iOS 18.2 release is soon. So maybe a 0.0000000001% chance.

That is optimistic. I expect that this is never happening.

This thread can't materially progress until 2degrees have an announcement to make.

In the interests of keeping this thread constructive I'm locking it until that time. Once an announcement is ready, someone can request an unlock and then the conversation can continue.

Any new threads on the 2d eSIM for wearables topic will be deleted.

If there is other 2d eSIM conversation to have, request an unlock but only that non-wearable chat will be allowed until eSIM for wearables is announced.

So looks like eSim for wearables has had a soft launch: https://www.2degrees.nz/mobile-plans/sidekick-plans

No Apple Watch support yet though...

Not a bad effort. . .

Only 2years, 6months and 10days since they launched eSIMs

I note you have to have a plan linked to a Samsung Galaxy phone as well according to the second FAQ at the bottom of the page. And only a few Samsung Watches on the list too.

Didn't all of the others follow this same pattern?
Something to do with Apple being harder to deploy to or somesuch?

I believe Apple needs to make changes to iOS/WatchOS to support the new carrier settings so maybe iOS 18.4 (or later).

Saw a Reddit post from a few weeks ago mentioning an employee had been told by the CEO at their Christmas party that a launch was due in April. So likely matches the iOS 18.4 schedule?
