networkn: Can we get multiple IP's on business connections?
AviZ:networkn: Can we get multiple IP's on business connections?
hah! your funny
RalphFromSnap: Hey guys,
MattR: How long is this offer valid for? I move into my new house in 2 weeks (600m from a vdsl cabinet).
Promo is running for an indefinate period of time, not currently set, when we decide on a time we will definately let you know!
richms: Q: for snap. Any reason this is only available on naked? Might get a friend to change off a vodafone adsl plan to this but keeping the analog line is a must for them.
Hi Richard, It's only really available on naked because with a POTS line, you need to have a splitter installed (expensive), the speeds can't be guaranteed as well as we can with nDSL.
Hope this all helps!

People need to remember that a splitter isn't something Chorus has to put in. There are plenty of installers around the country that can install it for you. Then you can just ring the awesome guys at Snap! and they can connect your VDSL. i can't remember exactly but i think I saw CoffeeBaron's price was $150ish

RalphFromSnap: We aren't completely opposed to having people on POTS with VDSL - in the end if you are willing to get a full wiring install done with a splitter installed, then it should work fine.
The reason there needs to be a splitter, is because the POTS interfers a lot more with VDSL and a normal filter just won't cut it!
McGee: These are the splitters in question.
You can do a DIY if you're keen to do so.

Three questions regarding this:
1) How hard would this be for a complete electrical novice to do?
2) I have no POTS and nothing plugged into any phone jacks (or monitored alarms etc). Would this really make any difference in my case?
3) Is there any measurable difference in quality between different splitters?

McGee:Potentially would be redundant doing it with naked especially if you're running it straight from the road / arial feed into one jackpoint.

In my case the ADSL jack is on the same circuit as the other jacks in the house (again, with nothing plugged in), would that make any difference vs a dedicated connection to the ADSL jack?
