No worries.

Baseband is a new chorus term. Copper means we are using copper rather than fibre.

Allows us to provide voice via LLU (house to exchange) and data (house to cabinet then exchange).

Yes, used to admin the Slingshot forums a couple of years ago. Still a big fan of social and forums.

Just tried a few address of friends and family around the Wellington and Wairarapa regions, as well as my own, and it isn't available to any of them. I suspect it may be mainly available to people in areas servicing higher populations?

We're based where demand and population is greatest - around 60% of NZ homes.

Make sure you register your interest, we use this information to decide where to go next.

I'd say more of a sister company than anything, considering CallPlus own both!

I like the concept, and it goes to show how broadband is becoming a commodity item.

I am surprised that Callplus would launch a 2nd sub-brand, but I'm sure there is a perfectly valid strategy for it.

I'm guessing the intention is to lift monthly user spend as Slingshot is actually cheaper once you get to 25GB, which lets be honest isn't very hard to do. Perhaps Flip is a way of getting around any negative perception people may have of slingshot from the past.

I'm going to watch this and see where it leads as I suspect we'll see others try follow the same model.

hamish225: I'm sure the com com will be fine with it, it very clearly states it's a freebie that comes with a landline... witch costs less than what a landline is with slingshot, so i see no problem here.

Does it come with a pointy hat and broom stick?
