Nice one. Gotta say though that to find after all this time that the updated T2P implementation seems to still be in an unofficial User Acceptance Testing phase is a little disappointing to put it mildly.
I have a parallel imported Note 3, running stock firmware however. In the NFC settings i have - "No payment service apps are currently installed" after clicking the tap and pay option.
I have a snapper touch 2 pay sim and the snapper app installed, does this mean the firmware i am running does not have the correct APIs? I am not too keen to switch to the 2degrees 4.3 firmware after using KitKat for the last month or so.

When you say stock firmware, do you mean unadulterated KitKat or the stock Samsung firmware? You need the SEEK API for Snapper to work. Google KitKat definitely doesn't have it; I'm not sure about the Samsung build.
The only way to be sure that it will work is to use the 2D firmware, sorry.
Another Note 3 with same firmware as mine tested fine so 2degrees replaced mine. After full restore my new one didn't work either. None of my apps used NFC but in the absence of other options I tried a factory reset and T2P then worked. Working out which app or setting was causing the issue will be a mission but I will try.

Works fine using the latest Wanamlite firmware on my S4.
Yep the stock samsung hong kong firmware i believe it is. Hmm so potentially other nfc apps could be affecting this? Tasker / secure settings / Trigger?
I got the Kit Kat update for the Galaxy S4 yesterday OTA.
Notice that the 'sim card wallet' option has disappeared under the nfc settings menu. It's been replaced by a 'tap to pay' box allow you to select a payment app. For me none are available. Won't be using the buses for the next week so not sure if it will just continue to work or if it may become problematic.
From what I read I'm not feeling too confident.

It's been working OK (after an initial glitch requiring a restart) till just now: kept saying please try again. I rebooted, but same issue. $30+ credit showing on widget so no issue there.
Gave up and switched to backup snapper card instead.
@ 2D - please advise fix. Thanks. It's a bit embarrassing being the guy with a snapper issue holding up the bus.
Update: so a girl with a snapper card had to try about 5 times getting the 'please try again' error message even when the card was still half an inch away from the reader
It's almost as if something in the nfc reader's sensitivity settings are set too high...
I tried using my snapper SIM with Galaxy S4 on the bus earlier this week. The bus said "please try again" but the money was deducted off the SIM.
Snapper helpdesk say it must be a faulty SIM and to get 2 Degrees to change it.
Today I tried to top up my "legacy" snapper card using my phone. It appears to have taken the money from my credit card but did not update the card. Hopefully the credit card transaction will roll back.
The card topup was working earlier this year but I think this was before the firmware upgrade on the phone. I hadn't tried it with a bus until this week but it was working with parking meters.
I've tried again to get the helpdesk to escalate to development, hopefully they do or I will follow up early next week when I've got some spare time.
I've not contacted them yet (could've just been a phone glitch - it has been a bit flaky since the kit kat update) but will do as had another issue on bus last night: phone tagged on OK but reader wouldn't recognize it at all to tag off. I.e. I couldn't tag off so would've got some penalty charge.
There used to be a 2D rep who monitored/ regularly commented re snapper matters in this forum so I was kind of hoping he would jump in here...
I also have the Kit Kat update on my Note 3, perhaps that is related, i have never bothered to stand there and try it 20 times to see if it would eventually work, but it definitely says please try again the first few times i tried.
I have also had the mobile app topup feature fail a few times as well, i have used it successfully on kit kat about 20 times but twice it has taken my money then come up with an error and failed to top up the card. Once resulting in a totally dead snapper card. Both times had to contact snapper to get it resolved, (new free snapper card and refund of my topup). Seems they have not put in a failsafe into the app, it authenticates and takes your money first then adds to the card next (if the 2nd step fails well it still keeps your money).
Well the failed topup to my "Snapper Plus" card has now gone through at the bank end so Snapper have $10 of mine that they haven't put on my card.

My Galaxy S4 is now working perfectly with the Snapper SIM.
I went in to the Snapper office on Friday and they tested the phone with their production setup. It worked perfectly and has worked for me ever since.
They were going to look in to the problem I had tagging on to the bus as they could see the audit log in the SIM showed I tagged on and their back end systems were not showing that transaction.
Also, I discovered that if you are topping up a separate (i.e. non-SIM) snapper card and the topup fails to apply to the card (but still goes through) you can "recover" the topup amount using the "collect" function on the snapper app. This will "collect" the topup from the "mothership" and apply it to your card.
So I've had my s4 with 2D t2p sim fail 3 times over the last few weeks: repeated 'please try again' error. Have had to switch back to snapper card each time. Anyone else?
