Feel free to show us old3eyes, I can see a 500mb for 29 but no 1.5gig, also way less talk time, 150 vs 300

friendlymonkey: Hmm I also would have expected to get more mins/data signing up to a minimum term.

So... you want us to force you to be locked in? It's a pretty simple choice: if you want a cheap (up-front) phone, then you can sign up for 24 months to get it. If you don't want a new phone, then you can get better network value and we don't force you to sign up for 24 months.

I'm already locked in...I'm an existing customer, who were told that we would always be placed on the most recent $39 plan (which was the same between open term and 24 month term), now 2 degrees has separated these plans and added significantly more value to the open term contract, while leaving customers on the 24 month term as is.

And at the time you received an incentive for signing on the 24 months I presume, so you want to have gotten the benefit, but don't want to pay for that benefit by providing 2D who provided that benefit with the cost certainty they get from a contract?

My agreement was to remain on whatever current $39 monthly plan there is.  Now 2 Degrees have split the open term and 24month plans to avoid increasing the allowance of the 24 month plan, while vastly increasing the allowance on the open term plan.

Before the open term and the 24 month plans were the same when it came to allowance, but that has recently changed.

maybe he's asking if you can give him more mins then are on the open term plans in return for a contract, instead of a phone....

Maybe we will one day, but for now, we've decided to be different, rather than just doing what the other guys are.

I think that the decision is straightforward at this price point. If you want 300 mins + 1Gig data then your two options are:
a) $29/month, free to leave when you want, or
b) $39/month tied for 24 months, and exchange for that $240 spread over 24 months and the promise that you'll stay a customer, 2degrees will give you $300 towards a phone.

If you don't think b) is worth it then go for a) and find the $300 yourself.

I can understand that if you made the purchase just before this offer came out and in hindsight you would have chosen the other options that would be frustrating, but that is always going to happen to someone, whenever a new product or service is released.

You've still got the best deal - Vodafone only gives you 500MB for $39 and Telecom would cost you $49 to get the same allowance.

More minutes and more data - Awesome!

I'm about to buy a 2degrees phone to work with my snapper. Happy days.

Though I have not idea who would go on a 24 months plan to get the bonus anymore... seems crazy to pay more than $69 for unlimited!

If I can figure out how to insert a pix here is a screen shot from to day.  No 1.5 Gig for $29 to day but 3 Gig for $29

Right. Data-only plans (no voice or text) and data add-ons. So, not the same thing at all?

Before changing over to the $29.00 Freedom Carryover Plan realise that you will no longer be able to share data.

John.

I'd really like to know if there are indeed any disadvantages to shifting from my Carryover plan to the same priced Freedom plan.

I'd like to know for sure whether I'll lose any accumulated data and minutes and whether data sharing with up to 5x other SIM cards will still work.

So far, no one seems to know for sure. How hard can it be?

You do not lose any accumulated data or minutes, and you can continue to share data.
