I'll have to start a new thread, but I was using . I'll try my laptop when I get some time after work.

I found I could ping -6 the router, load the [ipv6] address of my router to get the web interface and could also ping my wan ip from a testing site but no ipv6 traffic was being forwarded from my pc out. Ping -6 eventually started resolving but I had errors on the pings. I also tried my mikrotik (in place of the genius) which itself was unable to ping out on ipv6 despite getting an ipv6 addresses and a route. My pc was getting an ipv6 gateway on the mikrotik (because I'd set up an ipv6 dhcp server), but not on the genius - is that normal? My pc had the same results with either the mikrotik or the genius.

BigGuy: I'm keen for some IPv6 love too if you need another UFB tester. Although I'm on UFB and don't use the genius router.

What UFB area you in?

Hey Sounddude, I've PM'd you.  Further to my PM, I'd look at switching back to the Genius unit if it meant I could get a IPv6 connection.

Cheers

FWIW the genius seems to be more stable since I plugged it back in for this. Problems used to always start within a few hours or overnight. *touch wood*

Now all I ask for is to have vodafone offer ipv6 on their mobile data

Up and running overnight with no issues, everything is working as expected. Thanks Sounddude. Will report back if I have any trouble.

Ok, unfortunately as above I clearly should have jumped off the top of a touch wood tree aiming for every branch on the way down as the orcon genius is up to its old tricks. To a new thread batman!

Damn, if you ever need Orcon Geinus White testers, I can if you would like (though not on EUBA, I don't think)

Feel free to swap back to your Mikrotik. Keen to see how you get on for IPV6 with that device.

It needs to be setup to DHCPv6 a WAN IP (IA_NA) and a Prefix Delegation,

Cheers, will do.  I had the Mikrotik in for a few hours and it was being assigned an IPv6 address just fine and could also ping & resolve face:b00c from its console.  My only problem was getting it to do DHCPv6 to my network.  I pretty much copied http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:IPv6/DHCP_Server#Configuration_Examples but with no success.  I'm keen to get this going so I can get more learned on the subject.

Can the genius & orcon do SIP over IPv6?  At the moment there's no resolvable ipv6 address for sip1 or sip2

Is ipv6 traffic being counted?  It would be a great incentive to get more people onto it if the data was free :)

Mine went through on the 10th. Black Genius now showing firmware v 1424.

All seems to be working fine.

Now have to figure out how to get IPV6 doing something useful for me!! Perhaps some ideas could be posted?

tracert -6 -h 255 obiwan.scrye.net

:)

Anything useful? Not really, just the knowledge that you're helping to advance the internet and test the next generation of core internet technologies. Some websites give you nice "You're using ipv6" labels sometimes.
