I'm talking about the 7390. :)
It sounds like I should just leave it be on the old firmware- we use the wifi exclusively and it's fine solid-wise. (Lousy range but all of our gadgets are close to it anyway)

Thank you for your responses, much appreciated.

I gave up with the fritzbox wifi on the latest firmware as it completely screwed access with consistent drop outs, not good for streaming on the tablets.  No such problems with my Ubiquity AC LR now!

My 7390 range is fine, I can get WiFi out the end of the garden, which is probably only 12-14m away. My 7390 is up quite high though.

When I raised a support case with Fritz they just gave me basic troubleshooting rubbish, they weren't interested in looking into the problem.

Same with me, some basic stuff around location, clutter etc.  Worked fine on 6.3 but failed on the later firmwares.

My old router on the hall desk got me a signal all the way to the street. This one gets me less than a fifth of that in the same location in the hall but now mounted further up the wall in an attempt to maximise the signal; adequate for inside the house but no further. Which is perfectly fine by me but the hubby complained once because the signal won't reach the garage like our old one used to.

Otherwise my 7390 is working fine. We went through some VOIP issues on an earlier firmware but no problems since. I really like the guest access feature and telephone features. I'd shortlist a 7490 when looking for my next router.
