Hi,
I am on MyRepublic as well and experience this as well sometimes. Not sure if you have the same issue as me but my work around is:

ipconfig /flushdns (ran it from Admin Command Prompt)

Once I run that command all the websites magically starts working.
Though I must say it has been pretty stable for the past 2-3 weeks. Not sure what the issue is since its a 10 second fix i put up with it.

Hi,

Sounds like you're getting a DNS probe error. Sometimes, for various reasons, the DNS cache (which is the memory of all the DNS lookups for your computer) becomes corrupt or out of date. The symptoms vary, but the most common is that you can’t get to some web sites in your browser.

Flushing the DNS cache on your computer can often help resolve that issue :)

Cheers,

The Team @ MyRepublic

When it occurs, what happens when you try to run an nslookup?

This is an issue I have had often since changing to MR and I've had it with multiple machines including iOS devices which I can't see how to flush the DNS cache. I've never had this issue with any other ISP and suspect it MR making changes at their end which is causing it. I have got to the point where I barely using Wifi with mobile devices at home because its always intermittent.

@Jase2985

I see you regularly comment in the DishTV support forum.

I've signed up for MR and it goes live next week.  Not sure now that it is such a good deal?

Cheers

Bernard

Personally i wouldn't touch them.

They make outrageous claims, and have no way to back them up nor prove them.

HI its Mad Mum again!!

An update my hubby contacted "MR" about our account and we were waiting for a phone call from their Finance Team today and no luck, all we got was an email from Baycorp again saying they are reinstating the debt which I think is totally unfair....when they said they contacted my hubby he had no record on his cellphone which means they have been contacting someone else!! so much for MR trying to sort the problem out.....What a JOKE....I am going to contact some people tomorrow about this issue as its too late right now...

Has anyone else had issues with these clowns???????

Hi @MadMum,

We're sorry to hear that our Finance team weren't able to get in touch and the issue is still ongoing.

If you DM us your customer details, we'll be able to follow this up for you.

Thanks,

The problem affects all of my devices, wired and wireless. The wired and most wireless  devices can be fixed by flushing the DNS cache but iOS and Android devices can't be fixed because there is no command to flush the DNS cache on these devices.

I completely understand wireless issues are not their problem but their network doing something funky and creating these issues in the first place are their issue.

I am already kicking myself for not doing enough research into them and listening to a colleague who suggested them. I am considering paying the $299 termination fee and being done with it which probably isn't a bad idea being that so many people have issues with MR and they don't seem to be able to resolve them.

Hey Guys

An update sent an PM to MR last night and they emailed me this morning and said we are still liable for disconnection fee which I totally disagree, for a start they have the wrong contact cell number for my hubby and have been leaving messages and txts that he never received, which makes us even more frustated than ever and no-one seems to want to talk to in person its all emails which is totally wrong as we would like to talk to someone about it!!!!

DO NOT EVER JOIN MR THEY PROMISE HEAPS AND DELIVER NOTHING!!

MAD MUM MORE MAD THAN EVER!!

Hi @MadMum

We understand your connection worked fine when our team troubleshooted with your husband but you were having issues over wifi and wished to cancel due to those wifi issues :(

If the contact mobile number we have is incorrect, please DM us the correct number so our team can get in touch.

Thanks,

MR

When he first joined MR we have lots of problems with VDSL and then when we got fibre it was even worse.....no troubleshooting was going to fix problems no matter how many times he rang the problem was never sorted and we were told to deal with it!!

The modem was incorrect for fibre but all this came out after the fact and no-one from MR is willing to suck it up and admit there were many problems especially if its true that every phone call is documented....I find this hard to believe as you say one thing which is incorrect and we say another.

I have DM you with the correct cell phone no but you never bothered to find out if he was getting txts and phone calls......
