benokobi:

How do you actually go about changing plans with 2degrees? Website is confusing.

Tried doing it on my phone multiple times through the 2degrees store with no luck. Was in town this afternoon and popped into a store.

Give them a call?

Seems like a waste of staff time and my own time to waste time on the phone having me beg them to take my money.

Up till Friday, I had been on $69.95 plan getting 5Gb (+2Gb bonus) per month so for the sake of 5cents more per month, switched in-store yesterday and got the data allowance within minutes.  I have no need for that much data personally but I data share with a couple of friends so this will be handy.

Was happy for the post on here about these new plans as that was how I found out about them.

You have to phone them and sit on hold for 10-15 minutes (like I did yesterday). Once they answered, it was all done within 2 minutes, so no complaints here. Just would be awesome to be able to do it online!

I have to agree with you on this point. For now, I think that is the cost of business for 2 Degrees. See my next point below.

Considering it only took two minutes while talking to somebody, it seems like their process is very streamlined to actually give staff the power to do their job well. I know that before the big switch-over of 2 Degrees back-end earlier this year, once you logged into your account and had the orange menu bar on the left, you could change your plan on-line by yourself. I guess we are all hoping that they are customising their systems to allow customers this change in future.

Yes, that is in the plan to come back to the self-care site. We are acutely aware it is annoying. Sorry. :-(

When they make it easier to port to another telco vs changing plans with themselves guess what I would do in that situation.

Serious question, not trolling.

Why should they make the porting possible from within their portal? Generally, when I want to change electricity provider, ISP or mobile provider; I go to the company that I want to change to and they initiate the transfer of the account. I've never seen my current provider to initiate a port / transfer.

Exactly, I go to the other telco and can port onto a plan of my choice. If I have to go thru the ordeal of ringing 2d to change plan, when the alternat is I can simply do a port on another telcos site, then porting to a different telco is the obviously easier solution.

As Salty says we get the lack of plan change option is causing pain but it is coming back. If anyone wants to move to these plans and doesn't want to wait on the phone please PM us your name, number, the plan you want to move to and 4 digit PIN.

Thanks

I'm currently on the $69 plan with Neon. Could I still keep Neon if I switch to one of the new plans ($55 or $70)

Waiting to see if Spark comes to the party, if not I might just jump ship - any Spark reps here that can confirm if anything is in the pipeline?
