This was great. I say "was", because since Friday it no longer works. 1 hour is now back to $1 :( When I went to use it on Friday afternoon, it was showing as free, but when I went to confirm, it gave an error, and the freeness went away.

I've de/re-registered, reinstalled the app, restarted my phone. No dice. I'm on prepay, and even had a pack renewal on the weekend (waited to see if that would fix it). Using Android.

After the free hour, will it automatically start charging you? Or will it just disable internet access?

It's never worked for me.

Assumed it's because I have 2x 2degrees(a business one and a prepay one for dataclock) sim cards in my phone.

@SaltyNZ any chance you can confirm this is the case?

Do you mean two SIMs in the same phone? I am 99% sure we've never tested that so I would not be at all surprised to find it doesn't deal with it very well.

Yep, OnePlus 5. All you have to do is tell it which sim to get data from and other than not getting the free hour it works just fine.

Yes but how does the Data Clock application handle that

Has stopped working for me too ... have deregistered, restarted, reregistered, deregistered, uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled, reregistered ... iOS ... Auckland ... would have last used it Wednesday last week.

I don't know whether it's related or not, but when I first logged in today (before I discovered it was no longer working), the banner up the top instead of saying about the hour free instead talked about the 4 hours free for registering friends.

I have found an issue with my system. So far I have a smoking gun but nobody holding it. I have written a version of the suspect code with more logging in it, but that needs to be deployed before I can get better insight. TL;DR I’m working on it...

The iOS version has worked flawlessly for me so far. Last time I used it was this morning. I have a normal personal pay monthly account—perhaps certain account types are handled differently in the back-end?

I have also yet to observe any issues with 4G. Seems to drop down to 3G in the same places it drops down to 3G—most common places on my daily commute being Grafton station trench and New Lynn station trench (both of which are awful on all three carriers—wish they'd install a microcell!). More or less 4G everywhere else. Wonder if it helps that I have a newer phone with access to all the LTE bands so my phone gets 700/900 in places some older phones might only get 1800 and thus more likely to drop down to 3G 900.

Took a bit of fiddling to get it going but have used it every day for at least a week, great for Spotify on train home.

So today I have opened the app ... the banner talked about the free 1 hour today (vs yesterday) and I was able to claim the free hour again

My free hour has shown up again today as well, wasn't able to use it for the past week or so (using an iPhone 7 on latest iOs). I PM'd on Facebook and was told to ring to get the free data until it's fixed so full credit to the 2 Degrees call centre team who have applied the hour everyday, no questions asked :)
