"eSIM will be available later this year through a software update. Using eSIM requires a carrier plan, which may include restrictions on roaming and switching service providers, even after the contract has expired"
I think you'll find that that's Apple saying that eSIM support will be available later this year through a carrier update, not 2degrees. To be clear, 2degrees is not ready to make any public announcement regarding eSIM availability.

That is 100% Apple saying that not 2d
myfullflavour: Perhaps 2degrees should clarify this, especially as this blurb pops up in the top of Google
I did just clarify it for you.

Moment esim comes, you will want one number and watch support which again is an extra bit ontop of that.
You're spot on, this is what we want.

Not all of us. I'll settle for esim in my phone.

Nope, you want to use it for bad things!

Ok, now Voda has announced support from mid this year. 2degrees is the holdout even though they have said they are doing it.
grumpy now.

Duly noted. But no, we're still not in a position to make a public announcement.

Might I suggest that we abandon this thread until someone at 2degrees has info to share, as to avoid the crushing disappointment some of us feel every time this thread gets bumped (only to then realise it's just someone asking again)?
Well I wouldn't want to crush you with disappointment yet again, but I'm afraid I will have to. There is nothing to report at this time.

After the other nights little outage with both 2degrees mobile, and broadband being down in my area I wish that 2degrees would support esim so I had my work number, which is Vodafone enabled on my phone also. Given this is a corporate plan I don't think I'll be able to get it converted to a Vodafone esim anytime soon.
But anyway, I get the message. We've already tried and ultimately failed for esim support anytime soon. There is no point continuing the discussion until an official announcement is out so it comes with a heavy heart I'll lock this thread until that time comes.
But please 2degrees, us guys who refuse to switch from iPhones to Android really have no option but to wait for our providers to support esim (or hope there is a chance for our provider who is about to support esim, but doesn't have the best support record to switch our corporate plan to one). I really hope my otherwise preferred provider will support it soon.
Plus also, there is a very good chance if you did support esim with the Apple Watch that people like myself will provide you with more money to have it connected to your network.
