Wheelbarrow01:

Yes, it looks like the situation is resolved. Port 1 disconnection and port 2 connection are both scheduled as requested.

Yup - got a text to say it is connected now but won't change anything until I sign off from work tonight.

A big shout out to Wheelbarrow01 and Duffles for their assistance. It would not have happened without their support. BP still hasn't got back to me.

[EDIT]

Just provisioned it myself on my Asus router - took more time doing the cabling than the actual modem config :-)

All good. Not a great measure but this is what my Speedtest results were this morning

OK, But this is fast enough for me at the moment given my modest Internet requirements.  I have had this router a few years now. What is a good upgrade?

I am using an Asus RT-AC66U

As an aside BP finallly got back to me yesterday to say they had stopped the disonnection on port 1 (!) but I think it's already happeded and I would be disconnected 31/5 so another month's billinng. I told them I don't want any bills for May at all.

Would very strongly recommend ditching the Asus router and getting 2degrees to send you a Fritz!Box. For starters a much better router but also the Asus will struggle with Gigabit PPPoE so will be holding you back especially under load.

Also if you have any issues, 2degrees can provide support for a Fritzbox, as it's come from them, as opposed to a third-party router.
